Last Thursday was another doctor appointment for Ellie. She was due to begin her shots (again-she has already had them in China, but our doctor won't accept these)...but since our pediatrician and I could not agree on how to give the shots (I want them individually), she only received the Chicken Pox vaccine.
When the nurse weighed her, she said Ellie had lost almost a pound! I could hardly believe it, because she eats so much and has filled out...we instead, are chalking it up to a wrong weight the first time we took her in! She is officially on the growth chart at a whopping 17 pounds!! She is in the 5th percentile for weight and 95th for head circumference...I guess laying flat on your back for a year does make your head wider and flat :)
I will attempt to take her to get pictures taken this week...and if I am successful, I will get a CD so I can post some..pretty sad that she has kept us so busy that we can't even get out our camera...ohhh to be young and organized!
I can honestly say, I have felt covered by the prayers the faithful have been sending...Ellie is adjusting and so are we. She is beginning to trust us more and more and we are beginning to be able to understand what stresses her out and what her cries mean.
What have we learned? Crowds upset her...being passed for people to hold her and love on her is a great thing, but stresses Ellie out majorly...milk should only come in a bottle-NOT sippy cups!....she loves to eat...she loves her brothers..and oh yeah! we now know she loves us!! How? Be a fly on the wall one morning when she wakes and sees us there...or when she searches for us when she is upset...or when she looks over her shoulder to make sure we are watching...Yea, I'd say we feel the love...
